Advanced Technology for Faster, Lasting Pain Relief

We use Shockwave Therapy — a cutting-edge, non-invasive treatment designed to accelerate healing, relieve pain, and restore mobility in chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
This evidence-based therapy uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate your body’s natural healing response and promote tissue regeneration.

What Is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave Therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), delivers focused acoustic waves directly to injured tissues.
These waves increase blood flow, stimulate cell repair, and help break down scar tissue or calcifications that may be causing pain or limited movement.
It’s a safe and effective option for patients who want to avoid surgery or long-term medication use.

Conditions Commonly Treated

Shockwave Therapy is clinically proven to help with a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Plantar fasciitis and heel spurs
  • Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)
  • Golfer’s elbow (medial epicondylitis)
  • Shoulder tendinopathy and calcific tendonitis
  • Achilles tendon pain
  • Patellar (knee) tendinopathy
  • Chronic muscle tightness or trigger points
  • Hip and lower back pain
Benefits of Shockwave Therapy
  • Reduces chronic pain quickly and effectively
  • Stimulates natural tissue healing and regeneration
  • Breaks down scar tissue and calcium deposits
  • Improve circulation and mobility
  • Non-surgical and drug-free treatment
  • Minimal downtime — most patients return to normal activity immediately
  •
What to Expect During Treatment

Each session lasts approximately 2-5 minutes, depending on the treatment area.
Your physiotherapist will apply a conductive gel and use a handheld device to deliver focused shockwaves to the affected area.
Most patients experience noticeable improvement after just a few sessions, with continued progress over the following weeks as the body heals naturally.

Contraindications

Shockwave therapy must NOT be used in the following situations:

  1. Pregnancy
  2. Malignancy (Cancer) in or near the treatment area
  3. Over Major Blood Vessels or Nerves
  4. Bleeding Disorders / Anticoagulant Use
  5. Acute Inflammation or Infection
  6. Over Epiphyseal Growth Plates (Children/Adolescents)
  7. Over thoracic cavity, spinal column, or cranial bones
  8. Implanted Medical Devices : pacemakers, defibrillators, other electronic implants
  9. Osteoporosis
  10. Recent Corticosteroid Injection Avoid ESWT over an area that has received a corticosteroid injection within the last 6 weeks
  11. Post-Surgical  unhealed scars and wounds
  12. Metal Implants (Plates, Screws, Prosthetics)metal implants
  13. Neurological Conditions or Altered Sensation
    • If the patient has neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, or peripheral nerve damage, reduced sensation increases the risk of tissue injury due to poor feedback.
Common Side Effects

When administered correctly, side effects are temporary and mild, including:

  • Local redness, warmth, or mild bruising
  • Temporary increase in pain or soreness for 24–48 hours
  • Minor swelling or tenderness at the treatment site
  • Tingling or numbness (rare, transient)

These typically resolve within 2–3 days. Patients are advised to avoid anti-inflammatory medications immediately after treatment (as inflammation is part of the healing process).

  • Tendon rupture (if used too soon after steroid injection)
  • Bone stress fracture (over osteoporotic or thin bone regions)
  • Nerve irritation (from excessive intensity or improper targeting)
